We are very experienced in surgical oncology and some cancers may be removed surgically. However, other cancers may require medical management using chemotherapy.
Oncology is an area that continues to evolve, new treatment options that are more effective and safer for pets are being trialed and developed.
Chemotherapy protocols for cancers are ever changing, thus we utilise the most recent recommendations with protocols developed for each pet battling cancer individually.
We administer chemotherapy to your pet here at the hospital adhering to strict safety guidelines. It is usually a day procedure where we administer the chemotherapy agents along with supportive care, plus monitor your pet very closely for any potential side effects. Your pet will be discharged to go home once we are happy with the progress. We will discuss the process in detail with you and we welcome any questions you may have.
